Losing a friend, colleague or family member is really hard. And whilst it is a truly upsetting time you know you want to be able to celebrate that person’s life and hold a ceremony and service that you can be proud of. A funeral can be quite a cathartic experience, a sense of occasion, a rite of passage, that allows you to move forward in your journey to heal.
It can also be really daunting and seem like an endless to do list at a time when you can’t quite think straight. And this is where I will help you. I will help be your ‘grief companion’, allow you to craft the ceremony you and your family member or friend would have wanted -using my words, storytelling and drawing many personal tributes, touches and anecdotes from you.
Why I decided to become a Celebrant?
I have an extensive career working in events, marketing and digital, as well as experience in life coaching and mentoring but I had a realisation that I wanted to shift my focus a little – my kids were super young (not fully in school) and I wanted to truly start ‘being in the moment’, and genuinely help and meet new people. I spent the start of 2022 in a period of self-discovery with some health challenges and this was when I had my ‘eureka’ moment. I want to be a Celebrant.
I have a natural gift of leaning in and bringing people together – I am kind, fun, empathetic, optimistic, authentic and a true ‘people person’. I’ve often been told I am a great storyteller, creator and memory maker, so becoming a Celebrant across all of life’s ‘special moments’ just felt like my calling.
So hello, welcome. Have a look around my website to figure out what it all means, and I hope to speak soon.
