I am Susan Clinch and I trained to be an Independent Life Celebrant for one reason only and that is to help bereaved families and friends say farewell to their loved one in a manner which befits both them and the deceased.

With hundreds of funeral services now completed, there is not one family that I do not remember. Each service has been unique and individually written with love, care and a commitment on my part to be the very best celebration and farewell service possible.

I have written and delivered services that have been:

Tender and loving, full of smiles, tears and laughs. We have all cried together and even sung football anthems together when appropriate.

We have said goodbye to dear souls who believe they are going on to meet their Gods.

We have said farewell to precious hearts who believe there are no Gods.

I embrace all faiths and non-faiths. It is not about what I believe, it is always about what the deceased and their loved ones believe.

I understand religion and I like to pray with religious souls, as I know that it brings them comfort. I also truly understand humanists and what is important to them. And of course, I recognise that some people hadn’t yet decided.

I do not preach for any faith, in any service – but I do ensure that the physical presence of all the dear Souls who I have helped say farewell to, have departed this Earth exactly how they would wish to. With their God, or without any Deity at all.
