Following a death, those left behind feel a bewildering range of emotions. I aim to help by doing my best to follow your wishes and those of your loved one as I write and create a ceremony that you feel to be right. I am highly organised and work with integrity and efficiently. Most of all, I am passionately interested in telling your stories and ensuring that your family has an appropriate, respectful, personalised and comforting tribute when a loved one dies.

My background is in the world of education which I believe has developed me into a sensitive listener. I am an experienced writer and presenter. I also have a very broad knowledge of poems and readings, literature which can be incorporated effectively and appropriately into a service to give emphasis to aspects of your loved one’s life and personality.

Each ceremony is created and written individually in order to ensure it is personalised for the person who has died. I spend a lot of time with bereaved families prior to the funeral to learn as much as possible about your loved one. I welcome and encourage anyone who wishes to take part in the service to say goodbye in whatever way is meaningful for them – whether by spoken, written or musical tribute.

I am happy to officiate at either non-religious services, or at those where an element of religion/ spirituality seems appropriate.

I am only too aware that one size does not fit all, and I will help you plan a ceremony which will honour and celebrate the life of your loved one in a unique and life-centred way.
