Catherine Beer

I have spent the last seven years working in a hospice, helping to provide emotional, psychological and spiritual support to patients and families. I was able to sit alongside people in their sadness, pain and grief, and be part of their journey as they navigated a path that was tough and at times frightening and bewildering.

I now have the privilege of being a funeral celebrant. I will offer you a compassionate listening ear as you process, and as you reflect on the life that has gone from yours. I will gently guide you as you make practical plans, and we will put together a ceremony to best reflect the person’s life, loves, character. I will be comfortable with including bible readings and prayers, and will be comfortable in conducting ceremonies with all, some or no religious content. I can offer you space and time to talk, cry, and share memories.

I promise that I will support without enforcing a particular way of doing something. I will listen and accept with no judgement. I will meet you where you are at, and walk with you along this part of your grief journey.
