Funeral Receptions at the Trafalgar Tavern Greenwich

Built in 1837, the Trafalgar Tavern sits on the banks of the river Thames and has been a welcoming sight for visitors to Greenwich for over 150 years. William Gladstone and Charles Dickens were familiar visitors to the tavern, and the Nelson Room became famous for its legendary whitebait dinners.

More recently, the Trafalgar Tavern has become available for private hire, and has established itself as one of the most attractive and popular venues in the capital in which to celebrate weddings and other special family occasions.

We are here for you throughout; our discreet events team are on hand to guide you throughout the whole process of organising an after funeral gathering and to allow you the time to celebrate the life of your loved one.
Whether you choose a finger buffet, bowl food reception or tea and sandwiches, the occasion will be tailored to suit your needs during this difficult time. One of tour managers will greet you and your guests on arrival and our attentive team will serve refreshments and stay on hands throughout the day.

The Nelson Room
In the Grand Ballroom at the Trafalgar Tavern, glittering crystal chandeliers, rich wooden floors and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the river create a luxurious backdrop. With a maximum capacity of 350 people for standing events and 230 for sit down dinners, it is the idea setting for any gathering.
The Ante Room
The Ante room is our smaller and more intimate private room complete with private bar next door, the Admirals Gallery bar is the ideal wharf for any aspiring seafarer, adjacent to the Nelson Room and tucked away from the hustle and bustle if the bust bar downstairs. The room, with airy floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the River Thames, is perfect for a drinks reception, intimate dinner party, buffet or canape lunch. Seats up to 30 guests seated and 100 guests standing.
A fully licensed bar is available with can be offered on a cash or account basis.

Parking: we do not have on site parking available, however there is a pay and display on the road and carpark at the top of Park Row, it’s a 1 minute walk to the venue.
